
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is requesting the assistance of the public to identify two individuals connected to a recent robbery in Southwest D.C. According to a press release from the MPD, the incident occurred on Tuesday around 5:26 p.m. on the 400 block of L’Enfant Plaza, Southwest, a stone's throw away from the bustling National Mall.
During the confrontation, the suspects allegedly assaulted the victim and then threatened them with an implied weapon before fleeing with the stolen goods. The suspects' images have been obtained from nearby surveillance footage, capturing a glimpse of the alleged perpetrators. The Metropolitan Police Department has made these images available to the public in hopes that someone will recognize the individuals and come forward with information.
Anyone identifying the suspects or knowing about this incident should contact the MPD immediately. The department urges individuals not to engage but to call (202) 727-9099. Alternatively, tipsters can message the MPD's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The police offer a significant incentive for assistance, with a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this violent crime in the District.
