Chaos erupted at a high school sporting event in Brooklyn Park as multiple fights broke out among attendees, leaving one juvenile arrested. The incident took place around Park Center High School at 7300 Brooklyn Blvd. and was witnessed by Brooklyn Park officers already on the scene as the crowd dispersed. According to a report by Brooklyn Park Police Department Alert, the altercations seemed to come out of nowhere, involving individuals who did not previously know each other.
The presence of law enforcement did little to deter the outbursts, as attendees clashed in front of the officers, complicating the task of containing the situation. One group, in particular, continued to fight despite police intervention, prompting the officers to deploy pepper spray to quell the fray. Subsequently, one juvenile male was taken into custody and later released to his parents. The fights were described as random with no apparent preexisting connections between the combatants.
