Nashville is striking a chord with its new partnership between the TBR Center for Workforce Development and the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) to launch a pioneering music industry workshop at Nashville State Community College (NSCC). Starting on February 11, this six-week program will be available for in-person learning at Nashville State's White Bridge campus in West Nashville and as a synchronous online experience for remote students to engage in real-time, as reported by TBR.

With seasoned industry professionals like Hall of Fame inductee Tom Douglas and Big Machine Music's head honcho Mike Molinar at the helm, the initiative aims to sculpture up-and-coming songwriters and musicians for the brawl of the music industry, the program offers a deep dive into the songwriting business and provides invaluable networking opportunities.

Chancellor Flora W. Tydings of TBR highlighted the unique cultural leverage of the initiative, stating according to an announcement on the TBR's official website, "This innovative partnership, developed through TBR's Center for Workforce Development, brings together Nashville State and the Nashville Songwriters Association International in a way that exemplifies what makes Tennessee's workforce development special – the ability to harness our state's unique cultural strengths and turn them into career opportunities." The collaboration seeks to marry education with the practical requirements of the music sector, thereby facilitating an environment conducive to both personal growth and the wider economic development of the state.

NSAI's Executive Director, Bart Herbison, conveyed his excitement about this upcoming program, affirming in a statement, “NSAI is excited to partner with Nashville State on this six-week program. We applaud TBR Chancellor Flora Tydings, Nashville State President Shanna Jackson, and their teams for creating innovative and affordable ways to bring knowledge about songwriting and associated music industry careers to students." Herbison also underscored the caliber of the professionals who will be sharing their insider knowledge with the students.
