Black Rock Bar & Grill closed at Woodland Mall in Kentwood, Michigan, on New Year's Eve after four years. Woodland Mall spokesperson Mary Ann Sabo said, "We are already in discussion with another restaurant that will be new to the West Michigan market," with an announcement expected in the coming months, as reported by WZZM13.
Black Rock Bar & Grill stood out for its unique dining experience, where customers cooked their steaks on a sizzling volcanic rock. Although the Woodland Mall location closed, the chain continues to operate several other Michigan locations and others across the U.S. The closest remaining location to Woodland Mall is in Portage, Michigan.
Woodland Mall, owned by PREIT, has grown with new additions like Main Event, a Lego Store, and a 14-screen Phoenix Theaters. Popular retailers such as Apple, Dry Goods, and The North Face, along with dining spots like The Cheesecake Factory, also anchor the mall. As Black Rock Bar & Grill departs, a new dining option is expected, though details are not yet shared. "We look forward to sharing more news in the coming months," said a spokesperson, confirmed by Mary Ann Sabo, according to MLive and WOOD TV.
