The quiet town of New Lisbon has been shattered by a grim discovery. Authorities were called to a home on West Bridge Street late Monday afternoon, where they found three people deceased. The New Lisbon Police Department has since identified one of the victims as 33-year-old Elizabeth Kolba. Also found in the home were two young girls, aged 12 and 13, whose names have not been released to the public at this time, as reported by WKOW.
Amidst growing concerns in the community, the investigation has been classified as a homicide. According to TMJ4, police are urgently searching for a person of interest, 47-year-old Virgil Thew, who is also wanted through Wisconsin Probation and Parole. Thew, last seen wearing a dark down coat, blue jeans, and a hat, should not be approached if spotted due to the possibility that he may be armed and dangerous. Residents are urged to contact 911 instead of confronting the individual.
Details about the relationship between the victims and Thew have not been disclosed. The New Lisbon Police Department issued a statement that anyone with information regarding Thew's whereabouts is encouraged to come forward. As conveyed by WISN, Thew's description has been widely circulated in the community, and police have been acting on tips received from the public in their search for him.
In a display of concerted effort, the Juneau County Sheriff's Office has released a new image of Thew to help the public identify him. He is described as being approximately 5-foot-10 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds, as per TMJ4.
