The Norman Police Department has announced a temporary closure of several of its divisions due to memorial services for Master Police Officer Jenny Bryan. The affected areas including the Administrative Offices, Records, Investigations, and Property Divisions will cease operations at 10 a.m. on January 7, 2025, and are slated to resume their services at 2 p.m. on the same day, the City of Norman reported on Thursday.
In recognition of the serious nature of the situation, the Department assures the community that emergency calls and public safety needs will still be handled. They will work together with the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office and the University of Oklahoma Police Department to ensure that urgent assistance is not delayed, even though administrative functions are temporarily paused, according to the City of Norman.
The Norman Police Department is committed to transparency and maintaining public safety at all times. The Department acknowledges the potential inconvenience caused and expresses gratitude for the community's understanding and support as they pay tribute to Officer Bryan, as per the City of Norman.
