An Oakland County father has been sentenced to life without parole for the murder of his 14-month-old son, found dead in a Farmington Hills motel room. CBS News Detroit reports that Isaias Aurelio Porras received his sentence from Oakland County Circuit Judge Jeffery Matis last Thursday after being found guilty on December 11, 2024, of first-degree felony murder and child abuse.

In addition to life imprisonment, Judge Matis imposed a restitution of $5,000 with a restitution hearing scheduled for April 3, 2025. Porras had been arrested back in October 2021, when authorities, acting on a relative's concern, discovered the lifeless body of Isaias Daniel Porras with multiple injuries in a motel room. ClickOnDetroit noted the couple had lived in the motel for about nine months and had no permanent address at the time of their arrests.

The boy's mother, Amanda K. Jajou, was sentenced last July to 15 to 60 years in prison on a second-degree murder charge. She also received a concurrent 3 to 5 year term for an accessory charge. According to Hoodline, Jajou accepted a plea deal and pled no contest to second-degree homicide and accessory charges, while first-degree homicide and child abuse charges were dropped.
