Luis Manuel Frias Jr., 41, was arrested and is facing serious charges following a disturbing incident involving a minor in Orange County. ClickOrlando reported that Frias allegedly lured a 13-year-old girl who was on her way to school into his vehicle, drove her to a different location, and then raped her. Frias now faces three counts of sexual battery, one count of kidnapping, three counts of lewd or lascivious molestation, and one count of unlawful exposure of sexual organs, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Details provided by WESH indicate that the incident occurred near West Oakridge Road and Brookgreen Avenue. Frias reportedly approached the girl, claimed to have just dropped off his niece at school, and offered her a ride. Instead of taking her to school, he drove to a Tangelo Park neighborhood. It was there he proceeded to lock the car doors, seize the girl's phone, and commit sexual battery. After the assault, Frias dropped the girl off at the parking lot of Shingle Creek Trail.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office, in statements detailed by ClickOrlando, described Frias as a "predator" and highlighted the victim's bravery and cooperation, which significantly aided in the identification and arrest of the suspect. In response to this case, there is a concern that this may not be an isolated incident. Detectives are currently investigating whether Frias has been involved in other luring attempts.
