In the last year, Orlando officers responded to 757,799 calls. They made 15,860 arrests and took 1,340 illegal guns off the streets, 196 of which were seized in downtown Orlando, where the density of people and nightlife often coincides with the propensity for incidents involving firearms, as WFTV reported. The police force exercised its duty through 68,250 traffic stops. Looking to bolster its ranks and proficiency, the department welcomed 159 new officers and dedicated over 20,000 hours to training.
