Today, a semi-truck carrying lumber overturned on Florida's Turnpike, resulting in traffic disruptions in Orange County. According to ClickOrlando, the incident occurred near State Road 528, mile marker 254, and affected the northbound lanes. While one lane has remained open, authorities have warned travelers to expect delays.
The Florida Highway Patrol later clarified the cause of the accident, as reported by WFTV. The semi-driver, a 47-year-old from Palm Springs, apparently lost control of the vehicle while failing to navigate a curve around 10:36 a.m. He was not injured in the crash and cooperated with the on-scene investigation.
As crews worked to clear the debris, motorists faced bottleneck traffic conditions due to the lumber spreading across the pavement. The highway patrol has not disclosed any reports of other injuries related to the incident.
