Pasco County Man Sentenced to Over 11 Years for Child Sexual Abuse Material OffensesSource: Google Street View

A Pasco County man has been sentenced to 11 years and three months in federal prison for his crimes involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The Department of Justice announced the sentence following an investigation that unearthed disturbing evidence of the man's activities online.

According to court documents, the individual, identified as Fresco, engaged in a chilling conversation with an undercover FBI agent in January 2023. Fresco didn't hesitate to share his sexual interests in minors and went as far to gratuitously distribute two images and a video of CSAM. The exhaustive search of Fresco's electronic devices later confirmed he had been actively to distribute similar content across various online platforms, as well as possessing an egregious collection of hundreds of images and videos, some depicting the sexual abuse of infants and toddlers.

The investigation, spearheaded by the FBI, ultimately led to Fresco's prosecution by Assistant United States Attorney Ilyssa M. Spergel. In a statement obtained by the Department of Justice, the gravitas of these offenses was made clear as they highlighted the efforts made under Project Safe Childhood. Initiated in May 2006, this vital program aims to identify, apprehend, and prosecute individuals involved in the sexual exploitation of children, while also striving to locate and rescue the victims of such abhorrent crimes.

The result of this case reflects an ongoing commitment from federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to aggressively fight against the exploitation of the most vulnerable members of society. The sentences that are being handed down serve not only as punishment but as a grim reminder of the consequences awaiting those who choose to perpetrate such devastating acts. For more information about Project Safe Childhood, resources can be found at the official DOJ website.
