A JetBlue flight at Boston's Logan Airport was delayed on Tuesday evening when a passenger, after an argument with his girlfriend, opened an emergency exit and deployed the slide while the plane was taxiing. The flight, heading to San Juan, Puerto Rico, was stopped around 7:30 p.m. State police detained the passenger, who is expected to face charges, according to CBS News Boston.
A passenger described a disruptive incident on a flight, saying, "Boyfriend and girlfriend were arguing behind in me. Boyfriend got mad, got up walked down the center aisle, grabbed the emergency door, ripped it off, completely off. FBI agent tackled him, handcuffed him. Shortly after, state police came on board and took him off." No injuries were reported, but other flights were delayed as a result. Authorities confirmed it was an isolated incident with no wider threat, and the FAA is investigating. The identity of the passenger will be released once charges are filed, as stated by CBS News Boston.
A flight incident at Logan Airport occurred when a boyfriend and girlfriend argued, leading to the deployment of the emergency slide. "Two people directly behind me, they were arguing, boyfriend and girlfriend," Fred Wynn said. "I guess the boyfriend wanted to see the girlfriend's phone, and she wouldn't let him see." The altercation caused delays at the airport, and the man involved is set to appear in court on Wednesday to face charges, as reported by NBC Boston.
