The move sees Sterbick exiting the Orediggers to embrace a new role to the north as the offensive coordinator at Montana State, as reported by Denver7.
Sterbick leaves behind a remarkable record, as 9News reports, Sterbick garnered prestigious accolades, such as the 2023 AFCA Regional Head Coach of the Year and the NFFCC Colorado Coach of the Year. During his stint, he piloted the Orediggers to back-to-back national championship game appearances, and in 2023, secured both the RMAC and NCAA Super Region 4 championships. Under Sterbick's leadership, the team accomplished a record-breaking season with 14 wins, entering the postseason with a pristine, undefeated record, according to 9News.
Reflecting on his term at Mines, Sterbick expressed a profound appreciation for his experience. "I have loved being at Mines for the past six years, this is truly an incredible place," Sterbick said, as per CBS News Colorado.
