Glenn Bales, a 51-year-old from Phoenix, is accused of child exploitation. Bales had previously eluded law enforcement by fleeing to Mexico following his initial arrest on multiple felony charges in 2018. Phoenix Police have confirmed Bales' apprehension, marking the end of his run as a fugitive. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, Bales was nabbed in Mexico before being flown back to the United States where he now awaits trial.

Initially nabbed in November 2018, Bales faced 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. His capture at that time stemmed from a series of reports indicating that someone, later identified as Bales, distributed sexual images of minors via a dating app. As reported by AZ Family, it was not until a victim came forward and detailed their experience that the full extent of Bales' alleged transgressions began to unfurl. "Matt," as Bales had identified himself on the app, purportedly showcased explicit materials to the victim at his residence, only to be later traced via a debit card exchanged in plain view.

Despite stringent measures including an ankle monitor following his release on bond, Bales managed to cut the device off in 2020 and successfully evade capture until recent efforts by the FBI and Maricopa County Sheriff's Office brought him to justice. Bales' escape and subsequent flight to Mexico triggered a federal fugitive investigation. This coordinated initiative confirmed that Bales was operating under an alias in Mexico, as stated by Phoenix Police.

Investigators pieced together the puzzle of Bales' alias as "Jacob Spade" and apprehended him on a U.S. warrant, a process involving cooperation between multiple agencies. Once in custody, Bales was quickly transported to Los Angeles and ultimately back to Phoenix, where as of Monday, he is being held on a $1 million cash bond.
