
Pittsburgh residents are seeking answers following a tragic shooting in Perry South last weekend. Last Saturday, a woman was found fatally shot inside a home on the 100 block of Hawkins Avenue. Officers from Zone 1 of the Pittsburgh Police arrived at the scene shortly before 12:30 p.m., responding to reports of gunfire.
According to the City of Pittsburgh public safety blotter, the officers located an adult female victim with a gunshot wound to her head. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the Pittsburgh Police Mobil Crime Unit was on site to process the evidence.
As the neighborhood tries to process this violence, authorities have not released any information about potential suspects or motives. The investigation is ongoing, with the police encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
