
A 66-year-old woman was attacked in the Cortlandt Street subway station in Lower Manhattan during her early morning commute. Police are searching for the assailant, who struck her in the face with a golf club without provocation. The incident was captured on surveillance footage, showing the suspect with the golf club just before the attack, as reported by abc7 New York.
The attack occurred around 7:30 a.m, according to a Daily News report. The suspect quickly fled the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital with a head injury, but her condition is not life-threatening.
The NYPD Crime Stoppers has released footage of the suspect, who was wearing beige clothing and carrying the golf club. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS as they continue their search for the attacker.
