Earlier today, Hernando County Fire Rescue crews responded quickly to a house fire in Spring Hill. They successfully rescued three cats and contained the flames to the garage, as reported by FOX 13 News.
The call, which came in around 8:30 a.m., led firefighters to the 3200 block of Montano Avenue where they found heavy smoke and flames billowing from the garage, upon initiating an aggressive fire attack, they were able to effectively prevent the spread of the fire beyond its origin, as detailed on the official Hernando County Fire Rescue Facebook page.
Interestingly, the vehicle where the fire is believed to have started was neither electric nor a hybrid type, a detail that was highlighted by WFLA, though the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation at the time of this article.
Following the incident, Hernando County Fire Rescue emphasized the importance of fire safety by advising residents to close all doors during a fire. They explained that this practice can "dramatically increase your chance of survival and escaping the home safely" while also helping to prevent the fire from spreading throughout a building. This advice was shared both through social media and in WFLA's coverage of the fire rescue efforts.
No injuries were reported to civilians or first responders, thanks to the swift response of Hernando County Fire Rescue. Their efforts saved three cats from the smoke and flames that destroyed a car and threatened a home.
