
Raleigh witnessed its first homicide of the year when a man was shot and died on New Year's Day, as per notifications from local law enforcement. According to CBS 17, the male victim was discovered with serious gunshot wounds. Despite immediate transport to a local hospital, the man succumbed to his injuries. Raleigh Police, whilst withholding the victim's identity amidst their inquiry, are treating the case as a homicide. To assist their forensic analyses, K-9 units were seen at the crime scene along with detectives amassing evidence.
No arrests have been made so far, and detectives are appealing to the public for any information that could shed light on the matter.
