As the sun set yesterday in Sykesville, first responders rushed to the 5800 block of Woodbine Road, where a scene of conflagration unfolded. Volunteer fire crews from Carroll, Frederick, and Howard Counties were met with the sight of three vehicles engulfed in flames, according to WMAR-2 News. The blaze, which was called in just before 6 p.m., had extended its reach into an attached garage of a family home.

Amid the flashing lights and chaos, local teams fought the fire, with Sykesville's team playing a key role. As the Sykesville Fire Department detailed, Engine 124 laid out over a thousand feet of supply hose to establish a vital water link down a long 1800' lane. This wasn't the only support provided, with crews from Engine 124 attacking the fire and engaging in overhaul duties.

Around 10 Sykesville volunteers worked with Carroll County Fire and EMS staff from Station 12 to control and put out the blaze. The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal has taken on the role of investigator to unearth the cause, as no injuries have been reported.
