Firefighters in Riverside County have successfully halted the spread of a brush fire in the city of Hemet, with initial reports of the fire—dubbed the Chambers Fire—coming in around 6 p.m. near the intersection of Chambers and Gilbert streets, KTLA reported. The fire, fueled by strong Santa Ana winds and dry conditions, posed a serious threat, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a "particularly dangerous situation" alert, signaling high fire danger in the area.
The fire's progression was curtailed Monday night despite winds reaching up to 60 mph in some gusts, Cal Fire crews, alongside ground crews and fire dozers, battled diligently working to contain the flames which moved menacingly toward Domenigoni Parkway.
No evacuation orders or road closures had been announced, according to FOX LA.
