
A tragic incident unfolded in Sacramento on Friday when Sacramento Police Department officers were called to the 3600 block of 26th Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival shortly after 5:30 p.m., they discovered a male juvenile with a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical assistance from officers and later from Sacramento Fire Personnel, the young victim’s life could not be saved, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, as detailed in a Facebook post by the Sacramento Police Department.
The situation prompted a full response from homicide detectives and crime scene investigators who took charge of the ongoing investigation, they are currently processing the crime scene, conducting neighborhood canvasses, and speaking with witnesses in an attempt to uncover what led to the shooting, according to a post on the Sacramento Police Department's Facebook page. While the investigation continues, no arrests have been made yet, the department has not released any suspect information.
In the wake of the tragedy, the identity of the deceased is pending release pending notification of next of kin by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
