
A tragic situation unfolded in Sacramento last August when 23-year-old Andrew Gray-Blessett was arrested on charges for the murder of his 3-month-old son. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, Gray-Blessett called 9-1-1 on August 29, 2024, stating his child had stopped breathing while being rocked to sleep. Despite emergency responders' efforts, the child was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the hospital.
Following an investigation by the Sheriff's Office Child Abuse Bureau, Andrew Gray-Blessett was taken into custody. Equipped with evidence and statements from witnesses, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Gray-Blessett, citing charges for Murder and Assault of a Child Under Eight, Resulting in Death. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office reported that Gray-Blessett was arrested by their Major Crimes Bureau. He was booked into the Sacramento Main Jail and, as of the last update, is not eligible for bail. He is scheduled for a court appearance tomorrow.
