
A tragic car accident in Saginaw County early Sunday morning has left a woman dead and prompted a search for the driver, who initially fled the scene. According to ABC12, the Saginaw County Sheriff's Office reported a single-car crash in the 12000 block of Ring Road in St. Charles Township around 2:15 a.m., where the vehicle struck a tree, and a 32-year-old woman from Brant, identified as Amanda Oree Rogers, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to WNEM, the 31-year-old man from St. Charles, who was allegedly driving the vehicle, fled on foot before police arrived but was later found near the crash site with minor injuries. He was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, where a blood draw was conducted.
However, as of the latest update, he is no longer in police custody. Authorities have stated that if a warrant for his arrest is issued, he can be taken into custody since his identity is known.
