Tragedy struck a west-side San Antonio neighborhood when a nine-year-old boy was shot in the knee while inside his family’s trailer. According to KSAT, the incident occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Monday in the 1100 block of Leal Street, as shots were fired through a fence outside the home.
During the chaos, a mother and her two children were in the midst of their nightly routine, preparing for bed when bullets pierced through the exterior; the young victim, who was indoors, was struck above the knee by a single bullet, as described in the report by KSAT, the child’s injury was thankfully not life-threatening, he was transported to the hospital, where his condition was stabilized, the San Antonio Police Department said.
