The fog that blanketed the city early this morning with a visibility of just half a mile, is expected to clear, but there is a 40 percent chance of showers mainly before noon with a slight temperature rise expected later, as reported by the National Weather Service.
The rest of the day will remain mostly cloudy and temperatures are predicted to fall to about 56 degrees with north northeast winds inching between 5 to 10 mph, while tonight will cool down to around 47 degrees accompanied by patchy drizzle that could continue into Monday, making for a damp start to the workweek; while during the day a high near 54 is expected with similar wind conditions but with possible gusts as high as 20 mph.
Looking further ahead, the murky weather will likely linger as Tuesday is also set to be cloud-covered with patchy drizzle and a hint of possible showers, leading to a repetition of similar conditions into Wednesday. However, the latter half of Wednesday might see some changes with a chance of showers and the potential for thunderstorms after noon as the temperature climbs to a high near 73, making for an unpredictable mix of elements.
Probability for rain increases significantly Wednesday night as showers and thunderstorms are likely after midnight with a 70 percent chance of precipitation, carrying through to Thursday where thunderstorms are likely especially before noon and the high again nearing 72 degrees but despite the unsettled patterns, the National Weather Service indicates a return to more agreeable weather with only a 20 percent chance of showers on Friday and anticipated clear skies by Friday night which should herald a sunny start to the weekend with pleasant highs close to 74 degrees.
