As wildfires ravage Los Angeles, the San Diego Humane Society has stepped in to provide relief for four-legged victims, according to recent social media posts and news reports. Yesterday, a team was dispatched northward with vital supplies to aid Pasadena Humane in accommodating animals displaced by the Eaton Fire, according to information provided on the San Diego Humane Society's Facebook page.
The initial aid included four staff members who delivered crates and evacuation essentials to the Pasadena shelter. This endeavor aimed to free up space for pets in imminent danger due to the engulfing blazes. The team returned on the evening with 11 dogs, and plans for another trip to transport 30 more dogs cordoned off for adoptions in Pasadena before the fire have been made, as reported by Fox5 San Diego.
The San Diego Humane Society has reached out to its local community, fervently requesting potential adopters to open their homes to these animals in need. They emphasize the immediate impact this could have in creating space for more rescues. They've also highlighted the opportunity for residents to contribute by becoming foster pet parents, with information and sign-up options on their website.
