A Location With a Troubled History
The stretch of roadway where Wednesday's crash occurred is no stranger to serious wrecks. In September 2024, a high-speed police pursuit ended at the same Main and Yama intersection when a fleeing vehicle lost control turning toward the I-5 ramp and crashed through Naval Base San Diego's perimeter fencing, according to the Times of San Diego.
