
Early this morning, a fatal collision claimed the life of a Sandusky woman in Huron County. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred around 3:44 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 4 and State Route 113 in Lyme Township. The victim was identified as 28-year-old Myeicia Amison, who died at the scene of the crash.
Authorities explained that a 2020 Freightliner semi-truck, driven by a 68-year-old man from Akron, was heading east on Route 113 at the time of the incident. Amison was traveling south in her 2017 Acura ILX and failed to stop at a red light, leading to her vehicle being struck by the semi-truck. Following the collision, both vehicles came to rest off the southeast corner of the intersection, as reported by The Morning Journal.
The truck driver was wearing his seatbelt and was unharmed in the crash. The Ohio State Highway Patrol did not indicate whether Amison wore her seatbelt. As part of the ongoing investigation, alcohol and drugs have been ruled out as contributing factors. "Alcohol and drugs are not considered a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation," a statement from the Ohio State Highway Patrol clarified, suggesting that the events that transpired did so absent any grievous intent or overt negligence, according to 13abc.
