In a routine sweep for illegal firearms led by Santa Rosa Police Department's Special Enforcement Team, officers seized an array of unregistered weapons from a Rohnert Park resident last night, according to a post on the department's official social media channels. The search warrant, executed in the 1400 block of Gold Way as part of an ongoing investigation, unearthed an unserialized assault rifle alongside two unregistered handguns.
The arrested individual, a 29-year-old Ciprian Velasco-Sierra, is now facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including possession of a short-barreled rifle, possession of an assault weapon, and possession of an unserialized firearm, the Santa Rosa Police Department provided details in a Facebook post. The seized arsenal consists of a short-barreled rifle, also known as an SBR, which lacked a serial number, making it untraceable, as well as a 9mm handgun and a .45 caliber handgun, neither weapon having been registered.
Following the raid, Velazco-Sierra was booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility. The department's social media update details the consequences of the charges laid against him.
