Plum Borough, Allegheny County, became an unexpected hub of emergency activity yesterday afternoon following a multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus full of children. According to reports from WTAE, the collision occurred on Golden Mile Highway at N Duane Drive, and police stated that five vehicles were involved.

Of the 27 students on board, hailing from Holiday Park Intermediate and Plum Middle School, two were taken to the hospital by their parents for further assessment. Meanwhile, a local pizza shop worker, Savino DiLonardo, provided an eyewitness account of the chaos, telling WPXI, "I saw one car flipped over like right across the street." His attention was drawn by the sound and sight, and he added, "[It] took me by surprise. There were a lot of pieces of cars all over the road. Looked very hectic until first responders came in."

Plum Borough School District officials quickly dispatched a replacement vehicle to complete the compromised route, ensuring the remaining students' safe return home. The district expressed relief that "all of our students and the driver are safe," in a statement reported by WPXI. DiLonardo, reflecting the wider community's concern, said, "I just was hoping everyone was okay, honestly."

As for the other vehicle caught up in the incident, aerial footage from WTAE showed a car turned on its side off the roadway. They further assured that no injuries had been reported at the time and commended Plum EMS for their prompt response.
