
Seattle residents can expect a dreary end to the week with the National Weather Service (NWS) predicting a steady downpour. According to the latest forecast, rain will continue to be the defining feature of the city's weather for the next couple of days.
The NWS update indicates that overnight rain is set to continue with a 90% chance of precipitation and new rainfall amounting to less than a tenth of an inch, come Friday, the rain is forecasted to persist until 1 pm, followed by a possibility of showers afterward with high temperatures inching near 48 degrees. The likelihood of precipitation peaks at a full 100%, with new precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch expected adding to the city's sogginess. Friday night will provide a slight reprieve, as shower chances drop to 40% and mostly cloudy skies take hold—though the temperature will hang steady around 42 degrees with southsoutheast winds at a gentle 5 to 8 mph.
Saturday's outlook calls for rain again, mainly after 10 am, with an 80% chance of precipitation and similarly mild temperatures peaking around 48 degrees. Residents can anticipate the wind picking up slightly, coming from the south at 6 to 9 mph, New precipitation could be between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
Sunday's forecast is marginally better, showers are likely mainly before 10 am, then shifting to a chance of rain after 4 pm, while the day's high takes a slight upturn to near 51 degrees, the NWS suggests a 60% chance of precipitation with less than a tenth of an inch of new rain anticipated. Sunday night will see a reduced chance of rain before conditions clear a bit on Monday, with partly sunny skies and highs nearing 49 degrees, and the little chance of rain reflects a more hopeful start to the workweek.
The outlook for the following days, per NWS, is a persistent pattern of slight chances of rain and partially clear skies. Tuesday to Thursday the city will hover between partly sunny and mostly cloudy conditions, with daytime highs around the upper 40s, and at night, they expect the lows to intermittently tease the upper 30s to low 40s.
