A three-car crash in east Las Vegas last night involved seven individuals, including a toddler, who were caught in the wreckage. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 5:17 p.m. near the intersection of East Lake Mead Boulevard and Toiyabe Street. According to authorities, a Toyota Camry, which was reportedly speeding and weaving through traffic, caused a series of collisions involving a Lexus ES330 and a Dodge Challenger, as reported by FOX5 Vegas.

According to KTNV, the driver of the Toyota swerved across lanes into the center turn lane, striking a Lexus that was attempting a left turn. This maneuver caused the Toyota to collide head-on with an oncoming Dodge, resulting in a range of injuries from minor to critical. Among the injured was a 3-year-old boy. All involved parties were transported to the University Medical Center for treatment. The road remained closed to eastbound traffic for several hours as investigators worked to determine the sequence of events leading to the crash.

The driver of the Toyota, whose actions appeared to cause the multi-car collision, showed signs of impairment and was arrested for DUI causing substantial bodily harm, along with other charges. Further investigation and legal proceedings will follow to address the seriousness of these offenses.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section is continuing to investigate the details of the crash.
