Seven people were injured in a head-on collision in Ligonier this morning, prompting an extensive emergency response. According to WPXI, Westmoreland County 911 reported that the crash involving a Porsche and a Chevy Trailblazer occurred around 8:10 a.m. on the 3000 block of PA-711. The collision resulted in entrapment and immediate action from nearby crews.
Out of the seven victims, five were juveniles, all of whom were occupants of the Chevy Trailblazer. Two individuals, one adult and one child, were swiftly airlifted to area hospitals, while the rest were transported by ambulance. PA-711 remained closed as authorities worked to investigate the incident quickly, WTAE reported.
The cause and damage of the fire are still unknown. The fire marshal is investigating; updates will come after examining the scene.
