Springfield Police Department officers seized two loaded firearms and a significant quantity of crack-cocaine last Friday evening from an apartment on School Street, according to an official announcement by Springfield Police News. During a routine patrol at about 7:50 p.m., the police witnessed an individual, later identified as Alexis Colon-Kuilan, rush inside the apartment upon noticing the officers' presence.

Upon observation, officers noticed crack-cocaine on a table within the apartment space. In the initial interaction, Francisco Maysonet and Milagros Torres, the other occupants, denied knowing Colon-Kuilan. All three individuals were eventually detained for various charges ranging from drug trafficking to the possession of illegal firearms.

The Springfield Police C3 Unit and Officers from Squad "C" discovered over $1200 in cash during the arrests. The subsequent search of an apartment safe on Monday following approval of a search warrant led to the recovery of a second illegal firearm and ammunition. Both firearms were identified as large capacity and one was reported stolen out of Springfield.

As stated by the Springfield Police, charges against Colon-Kuilan, 29, include possession of a firearm without an FID Card, cocaine trafficking, and multiple other related offenses. The 59-year-old Maysonet is facing similar firearm charges, along with assault and family/household member battery, and witness intimidation related to an active default warrant.

For 60-year-old Torres, her charges mirror those of her counterparts, with the additional finding from the safe leading to a request for criminal summons for the further firearm-related offenses. The details provided by the SPD highlight the serious nature of the offenses and the potential impact on community safety resulting from these illegal activities.
