A tragic incident occurred Sunday evening in Polk County, resulting in the death of a St. Cloud motorcyclist. At around 6 p.m., 37-year-old Kevin Loring was fatally injured when his motorcycle collided with a van on US 27 near Charles Street, close to Frostproof. According to WFTV, Loring was thrown from his bike during the crash despite wearing a helmet and succumbed to his injuries.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office reported that the van, driven by a 48-year-old woman from Frostproof, was attempting to turn onto US 27 and moved into the motorcycle's path. This critical move led to the tragic collision. As stated by ClickOrlando, the motorcycle and van impacted forcefully enough to cause Loring to be thrown off his bike.
The other driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after the collision, and the cause of the incident is currently being thoroughly investigated.
