Yesterday, at approximately 7 pm, a high-speed chase unfolded in the streets of St. Louis after a vehicle, sought in connection to an incident involving gunfire, led authorities on a pursuit through city blocks. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department promptly responded to reports of shots fired at a person near 8th and O’Fallon. The fast-paced event quickly escalated as multiple law enforcement units, including an aerial helicopter unit, Air 1, and K9 support, engaged in the tracking and apprehension of the suspect's vehicle.
According to a statement released on the official Facebook page of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the lengthy chase eventually drew to a close in the vicinity of Tucker and Park where police were able to successfully bring the juvenile driver into custody. During the course of the incident, officers recovered a gun from the scene, and thankfully, no injuries were reported as a result of the chase or the preceding events.
