
A recent altercation in Mount Pleasant led to a stabbing under dramatic circumstances, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The incident occurred in the 4800 block of S. Broadway around 2:45 p.m. on December 6, 2024, where a heated argument over personal matters erupted into violence, resulting in a 36-year-old man being stabbed multiple times by a 50-year-old man, who is an acquaintance of the victim.
Although the details of what sparked the argument remain unclear, the confrontation quickly escalated from verbal to physical, and despite the fact that the two men knew each other their disagreement reached a violent conclusion, before the scene could be deescalated and the 36-year-old man sustained multiple stab wounds, necessitating emergency medical attention.
According to the SLMPD's press release, emergency medical services responded promptly and transported the victim to the hospital where his condition was listed as stable. Following the episode, the 50-year-old suspect was taken into custody by the District 1 authorities who are currently conducting an investigation into the matter, with the aim of piecing together the events that led up to the stabbing.
