Montgomery County Recreation is gearing up for another summer of active and healthy fun for children with registration for its summer camps opening soon. Starting at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, county residents can enroll their kids in a variety of programs designed to keep them engaged and active during the summer months. Non-county residents get their shot just a couple of days later on Thursday, Jan. 23.
"Summer is the perfect time for children to explore, learn and stay active, and Montgomery County Recreation’s camps are a fantastic way to make that happen," Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich said, as per the Montgomery County website. The camps have been described as inclusive, with "something for everyone", whether it's fostering outdoor adventures or offering a canvas for creativity and skill-building. Elrich also highlighted the availability of Rec Assist scholarships aimed at ensuring every child in the community has access to these enriching summer experiences.
These summer camps are spread throughout Montgomery County, emphasizing outdoor activities and safety. Parents and guardians can plan by exploring the available programs in the digital GUIDE, also making use of the ActiveMONTGOMERY wish list feature to prepare for the registration process.
