In a concerted effort to crack down on regional crime, the Troy Police Department has reported the arrest of a suspect linked to multiple home invasions across Troy, Michigan. According to CBS News Detroit, the key moment occurred last Friday when an alert was triggered regarding an unauthorized entry at a residence in the 2100 block of East Big Beaver Road. The police promptly arrested Brian Maurice Kellum, 41, during a traffic stop around 1:30 p.m., the same day the invasion was reported.
It was not only the local police force but also a specialized team, the Special Investigations Unit, that made the arrest and is handling the ongoing investigation. According to a social media post from the Troy Police Department, this unit collaborates with neighboring jurisdictions, including Auburn Hills, Birmingham, Bloomfield Township, and Royal Oak, to investigate and address crimes affecting the wider community.
Following his capture, Kellum faced arraignment on Monday and was charged with two counts of second-degree home invasion and one count of driving while license suspended. The officers believe Kellum might have been involved in other similar incidents in the area.
