A stabbing incident in Boston's South End following an attempted burglary resulted in one arrest on Wednesday evening. The Boston Police Department reports that officers assigned to the District D-4 (South End/Back Bay) were dispatched to the intersection of Warren Avenue and West Brookline Street at around 5:30 p.m. where they encountered a male suspect fleeing the scene towards Dartmouth Street.

The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Kejaun Latney of Malden, MA, was apprehended by the officers outside 156 Warren Avenue. According to the Boston Police Department's report, Latney resisted arrest and was found with visible blood on his hands as well as a 5-inch steak knife in his sweatshirt pocket. He had also sustained a non-life-threatening stab wound. Boston Emergency Medical Services (EMS) was called to provide medical assistance at the scene.

Meanwhile, additional units responding at 177 Warren Avenue discovered another male victim with multiple non-life-threatening stab wounds. The victim was promptly transported by Boston EMS to a local hospital for further treatment. Further investigation by the police suggested that the incident began when Latney allegedly followed a female victim to her residence, grabbed her from behind, and covered her mouth to prevent screaming. The female’s husband intervened, which police believe led to the violent confrontation involving the stabbing.

After receiving medical attention for his wound, Latney is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on multiple charges, which includes Breaking and Entering, Armed Burglary, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon – Knife, and Assault and Battery. This announcement was part of a statement released by the Boston Police Department which shared details of Wednesday's chain of events and the quick response by the officers involved.
