
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office has reported the recent arrest and subsequent release of two individuals suspected of organized retail theft. According to a social media post by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, Nicool RiveraMartinez, 21, and Estefan Rodriguez, 24, of San Bernardino County, were apprehended last Friday after being detained by security officers at Nordstrom’s Rack on Ethan Way for a retail theft incident.
Following a response from detectives who connected them to prior thefts at Ulta Beauty locations in Sacramento County, a search of their vehicle uncovered over $19,000 worth of stolen goods. The discovery of a list targeting Ulta locations throughout northern California was also found in their possession. Despite securing a $100,000 bail enhancement and an examination of funds enhancement, RiveraMartinez and Rodriguez were released on January 22, by the courts on their own recognizance, they are scheduled to reappear in court on February 18.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office believes that the suspects may have been involved in additional unreported retail thefts in the region. Business owners and employees who recognize either suspect from previous incidents are urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 916-874-5115.
