A brush fire that ignited in Anahola near Ehukai Road on Kaua‘i has been largely contained following a coordinated response from the Kaua‘i Fire Department. Firefighters from Kapa‘a, Kaiākea, and Līhu‘e stations, along with assistance from Tender 1, Public Works, Air 1, the on-duty Battalion Chief, the Kaua‘i Police Department, and Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting, worked together to manage the fire, according to a press release from Kaua‘i County.

The fire, first reported just before noon, was contained to an area of less than 10 acres. Crews remain on-site addressing hotspots to ensure the fire is fully extinguished. The Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency, which is overseeing the situation, has closed roads and is providing ongoing updates. Ehukai Road is closed between Pilipoli Road and Holoikalapa Street, and the public is advised to avoid the area. No injuries or building damage have been reported.

Evacuations were carried out for several homes along Ehukai Road as a precaution, although the fire primarily spread along the coastline, away from residential areas. The Kaua‘i Fire Department’s efforts have helped manage the situation and minimize potential risks to public safety and property.
