The Tampa Bay area is on high alert as the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office steps up their search for an armed suspect accused of robbing multiple gas stations. The string of robberies, which have kept local law enforcement on their toes, occurred at three different locations. The man in question reportedly robbed a 7-Eleven at 18902 N. Dale Mabry Highway, a Circle K located at 6211 N. Dale Mabry Highway, and another Circle K at Race Track Road and Tampa Road in Pinellas County.
Authorities have disclosed surveillance footage displaying the suspect, brandishing a weapon and demanding cash before making his escape. Notably, the suspect is described as wearing a green Reebok hoodie during the incidents. "A surveillance video from one of the scenes shows the man armed with a handgun and demanding cash from the register before fleeing the store with money in hand," a report via WFLA noted.
The Sheriff’s Office is calling on the community for assistance. Anyone with information about the individual or the robberies themselves is being urged to come forward. In an appeal for public vigilance, the footage has been shared, hoping that locals might recognize the suspect. As stated in an article by WTSP, "Anyone who recognizes the man or has any information regarding the robberies is encouraged to call the sheriff's office at 813-247-8200."
This surge in criminal activity has prompted increased surveillance and precautionary measures at local businesses. Contact with the suspect is considered dangerous, and civilians are cautioned against confrontation. Instead, those with potential leads are advised to report to the authorities, according to a FOX 13 News article.
