A Tampa man has entered a guilty plea for possessing a disturbing trove of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM). On December 16, 2024, Jack Rocker, 19, admitted to the charges that could land him up to 20 years in a federal prison, according to the United States Attorney's Office. The confirmation comes from a press release published on the DOJ's official website. Furthermore, the court mandates Rocker to register as a sex offender and to pay restitution to his victims.

The investigation uncovered Rocker's affiliation with the group known as "764," identified as a network with racial or ethnic motivations for violence, using social platforms to disseminate CSAM and extreme gore media, as mentioned on the U.S. Attorney's Office. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) executed a search warrant at Rocker's residence on January 19, 2024. The agents seized devices including a cellphone, thumb drive, and laptop, all of which contained over 8,300 images and videos of CSAM depicting the sexual abuse of very young children and heinous sexual acts.

Rocker is now awaiting sentencing scheduled for March 14. His conviction is a result of the Project Safe Childhood initiative, as noted on the Department of Justice's website. This initiative spearheaded by the DOJ aims to tackle and take down the escalating problem of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Assistant United States Attorneys Ilyssa Spergel and Karyna Valdes are leading the prosecution of this case which was investigated by the FBI. Authorities are also pursuing the forfeiture of the devices Rocker used in the commission of these offenses. Detailed information about Project Safe Childhood and their efforts can be accessed at www.justice.gov/psc.
