The Tampa Police Department recently identified a body retrieved from the waters off Chapin Street as Armando Guzman-Ortiz, a 23-year-old Tampa resident reported missing since last month. According to a WFLA report, following the discovery on Monday, officials have been probing into the incident, with initial assessments suggesting no foul play had a hand in Guzman-Ortiz's demise.
Earlier this week, individuals at the scene contacted authorities, and police responded shortly after 3 p.m. A dive team was called in to recover Guzman-Ortiz's body from the cold waters, according to FOX 13 News.
Law enforcement has committed to thoroughly investigating Guzman-Ortiz's death and will provide updates as the case progresses, as per the WTSP.
