The City of Tampa is inviting Buccaneers fans to join in celebrating as the team prepares for another playoff weekend. Earlier today, Mayor Jane Castor led a banner drop event in partnership with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to an announcement from the City of Tampa.
The event, a fixture in the playoff season playbook, will commence at precisely 11:00 A.M. outside Old City Hall. Fans will get the opportunity to not only witness but also to jointly cheer as city officials and Bucs dignitaries, among them COO Brian Ford, are to literally climb aboard a fire engine to unveil the team's banner. This iconic display is meant to amp up community spirit as the city's edifices glow a fiery red, symbolizing undying support for the home team.
According to the City of Tampa's announcement, attendees will be joined by a group of Buccaneers alumni and leadership. Bucs cheerleaders, the Street and Promo teams, and even pirates are set to bolster the excitement, underscoring Tampa's commitment to the Buccaneers' playoff journey.
