The Milwaukee Public Safety and Health Committee has approved Tara Cavazos's appointment as the 11th District representative for the city's Safety and Civic Commission. Cavazos, who is also the Executive Director of the South 27th Street Business District Association, has been recognized for initiatives like a new transit shelter concept, incorporating technology into neighborhood watch programs, and collaborating with law enforcement to implement FLOCK cameras.
According to the City of Milwaukee release, Alderman Burgelis, who submitted Cavazos's nomination, expressed confidence in her abilities, saying, "I am proud to have submitted her nomination, and I know that Commissioner Cavazos will strive to help develop strong strategic plans meant to create positive outcomes for the community. She will effect a safer and more vibrant Milwaukee." Cavazos acknowledged her role and expressed her commitment to making positive changes in Milwaukee.
