A recent collision between a car and a motorcycle has left a teenager in critical condition. Last Saturday, the intersection of Sandy Lane and E. Colton Avenue in Las Vegas was the scene of an incident after a Chevrolet turned into the path of an oncoming motorcycle, according to a statement from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD).

The LVMPD's Collision Investigation Section reported that the Chevrolet Cruze, driven by 62-year-old Ernesto Gutierrez of Las Vegas, was executing a left turn to go westbound on Colton Avenue. Simultaneously, the 17-year-old motorcyclist, whose name has not been disclosed due to his juvenile status, was traveling southbound. Police say the front of the 2015 Honda CBR300R motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the Chevrolet, throwing the teenager from his vehicle.

Gutierrez suffered minor injuries and remained at the scene, showing no signs of impairment. The motorcyclist was swiftly attended by emergency medical personnel and transported to UMC Trauma, where he is still being treated for critical injuries. The LVMPD's investigation into this incident is underway and further information is awaited to determine the full circumstances of the crash.
