A teenage boy was injured while attempting subway surfing at the Briarwood station in Queens. Officials said the 16-year-old fell off a northbound F train onto the platform around 8:52 p.m. yesterday. According to abc7NY, the 16-year-old was found conscious despite injuries to his legs.
The teen was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and is in stable condition, according to the New York Post.
"It wouldn’t be the first time," a police source said about the teen's subway surfing endeavors, according to the New YorkPost. The incident occurred days after another youth sustained head injuries from a similar stunt in the Bronx. Last year, there were six fatalities linked to individuals attempting this dangerous act.
