The Texas Department of Public Safety has wrapped up January with a notable achievement, having successfully apprehended two significant figures from their 10 Most Wanted list. According to a report by CBS Austin, Jrdon Joe, a 23-year-old Houston resident implicated in a 2024 murder, and Marcos Alonzo, a 47-year-old Dallas resident who violated sex offender regulations, were both taken into custody this past month.
Joe, arrested in Houston, was on the run since being charged with the shooting of a man in a parking lot off IH-45. With a rap sheet that includes drug and violent offenses, his history is marred by criminal activity. Landing in Dallas while off monitoring the radar, Alonzo has been wanted by authorities since February 2023 for neglecting to fulfill his sex offender requirements. His past involves a disturbing conviction involving indecency with a child and subsequent offenses about failing to register as a sex offender.
On the heels of these arrests, MyTexasDaily.com shared that Jrdon Mykel Joe, the fugitive spotlighted for January, was detained on January 28 through collaborative efforts between various law enforcement agencies, including the Texas Anti-Gang Center. Meanwhile, Marcos Christopher Alonzo was apprehended on January 18, thanks to the joint operation involving the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the Hutchins Police Department.
These arrests not only represent a win for the Texas DPS but also highlight the role of public assistance in law enforcement efforts. For information that has led to the capture of these individuals, Crime Stoppers rewards totaling $10,000 will be paid out this year. Grabbing data from the criminal underworld, Texas Crime Stoppers encourages tipsters to come forward and provide information anonymously, offering cash rewards as an incentive for helping to locate fugitives deemed dangerous and not to be approached by the public.
